RAV4: The Evolution of the World's Best-Selling SUV

The Toyota RAV4 has long been a leader in the SUV market, achieving global sales of 1.4 million units in 2022, making it the best-selling passenger vehicle. Now, with the arrival of the 2025 RAV4, its new design and technological innovations have car enthusiasts eagerly anticipating its future.

The 2025 RAV4 will offer multiple powertrain options, including a 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5L hybrid system, and a PHEV plug-in hybrid version. This continues Toyota’s dominance in hybrid technology, providing consumers with a more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly driving experience.

In addition to improved fuel economy, the new RAV4 also sees enhancements in off-road performance. The introduction of an all-new all-wheel-drive system allows for superior handling in complex road conditions, meeting the diverse needs of SUV drivers.

Inside, the overall design of the 2025 RAV4 remains largely unchanged, but its features have been upgraded. Blind-spot monitoring, parking assist braking, and a connected navigation system will now be available even on the base model, enhancing overall safety and smart driving capabilities.

Built on the TNGA-K platform, which it shares with the new Camry, the 2025 RAV4 supports multiple powertrains while offering a lower center of gravity and increased body rigidity, providing drivers with a more stable and refined handling experience.

GR86: A New Chapter of Racing Passion

Beyond the SUV market, Toyota is also making strides in the high-performance sports car segment. The new-generation GR86, developed with Gazoo Racing, has undergone major advancements in both performance and handling.

The new GR86 will feature a 1.6L turbocharged three-cylinder engine, which made a stunning debut in the GR86 Rally Legacy concept at SEMA. With a maximum output of 300 horsepower, this engine promises an exhilarating driving experience.

In addition to the 1.6L turbo version, Toyota is also considering a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the GR86. This engine, which was showcased in the GR Yaris M concept at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Show, is expected to produce up to 296 horsepower. It may also be used in future successors of the Celica and MR2, offering enthusiasts more choices in the high-performance sports car lineup.

With the launch of the 2025 RAV4 and the new GR86, Toyota demonstrates its strong presence in different automotive segments.
